It belongs to the family of Composites (Compositae).

It is a perennial herb , up to 10 cm and grows on limestone cliffs and rocky slopes from the low to the higher altitudes .

The leaves are in a rosette , slotted and have a dark green color. In the middle of the rosette strip asprorodina flowers in form and resemble the head erect hairs.

It blooms in late spring . In Mani gathered for its sweet taste and becomes stew . The plant is native to Greece and is found in the Peloponnese , mainland Greece and the Cyclades .
