It is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches a height of 20-50 cm . The root is long , simple or branched.
The roots , stems and leaves contain a milky juice . From the top of the root of the sheets come in rosette . Their shape is not completely the same , however they generally are oblong , toothed , lobed , large, red stem and thick , red central nerve.
Their color is dark green , glossy on the upper surface and lighter on the bottom . Very common are the red spots on their leaves .
Taste : milky and slightly bitter . It is sweet when cooked.
Usage: zochoi eaten cooked with other greens or in pies and help weaken the bitter taste . The tender parts can be used raw in salads .
